Thread: Unable to access web site archive material

I was in the same situation, I had access to both ME and MEW archives but with a change of ownership things changed although I seem to remember reading David said that one of the benefits of subscribing was that your original subscription wouldn't change! mine was for print&digital for ME and digital for MEW, I with the change in ownership I couldn't access MEW archives and to regain that I had to upgrade my subscription, the way to access them is a bit iffy, the way to do it is to log in as normal and then at the top of the page click on magazines, which gives you a page telling you about upgrading your subscription, below is two links to ME and MEW archives, if you read the bumpf on the page it tells you that if you have a P&D or just a digital you will still get access, if that is the case I am puzzled why I had to upgrade my digital subscription last year. My sub numbers are the same.

Our Smith's move their magazines every week, I gave up playing hide and seek 60 years ago, a good reason for having them posted through the letter box.

** How to Rid Your Yard of Cats [411]

The following is a description of a device I built at my home in
Brooklyn, which not only gave us relief from the

[Illustration: Electric Apparatus for Driving Away Cats]

nightly feline concerts, but also furnished much amusement to my
friends.

I first ran two bare copper wires along the top of the fence about
1 in. apart, fastening them down with small staples, care being
taken that they did not touch. To the ends of these wires I
fastened ordinary insulated bell wire, running them to the house
and connecting them to the upper binding-posts of an induction
coil; I then ran a wire from the lower binding-post of my coil
through the batteries back to the other lower binding-post of
coil, breaking the circuit by putting in an ordinary switch. The
more batteries used, the stronger the current. The switch should
always be left open, as it uses up the current very rapidly.

When "tabby" is well on the wires I close the switch and she goes
the length of the fence in bounds, often coming back to see what
the trouble is, thus receiving another shock.

Might be one of the no's though.

How about a couple of geese, they make good watch dogs and if they annoy the neighbours to much you can always eat them. The geese not the thieves!

Thread: mini Bandsaw, or mini Scroll Saw ??
03/01/2014 19:14:33

I've had a hegner scroll saw for years and have cut 1/4 mild steel on it, it will cut 2mm aluminium easily.

There's one on ebay. item number 171208875706 £152 at the moment mine cost over £500 10 years ago!

I also have a small band saw which is good for roughing out but I've only used that for wood.
