Thanks for all suggestions. I've even removed batteries from both handsets and unplugged the base unit. It's still the same, I think I'll just have to live with it. At 89 it should last me out. Thanks again Roy |

Good morning friends I have a BT 4600 cordless phone. The dialling tone is intermittent as if I had a call on my answering machine. I use BT 1571 not the answering machine on the phone. There is not a call there. I have two handsets and it is the same on both. I contacted BT and all they can come up with was. cancel 1571 and use the answering machine on the phone. Anyone got ant ideas please Roy |

You can use the brass shavings as often as you like, they are only to even the heat. I've used fine sand in the past. |

I probably should said that I have a staking tool. And have made and fitted a chronometer balance staff. Years ago I used to repair watches, main springs and complete balances etc. Roy |
