Thread: Confused about Myford oil nipples! |
09/07/2017 22:37:55 |
Have you used an oil gun on the new nipples, if so does it work without squirtting oil every where. The new one looks like a grease nipple which maybe different from a oil nipple. I am sure someone will advise if there is a difference. Hugh |
Thread: Request of Help With Stuart Model 800 |
08/07/2017 23:16:37 |
Hi Jason, I did not read the OP properly . Yes it was the lightweight i was referring to. However the carb casting looks the same. If it helps the 800 is not in the 61 cat. The only other I/C is a 150cc Sandhurst in the cat. Hugh |

I spoke to Stuarts at last years GDSF and asked if they were going reintroduce this I/C engine to their line. The answer was maybe one day . I was curious as I have a carb casting and finished aircooled cylinder somewhere in the workshop. Hugh |

Thread: Digital Calipers - Can you rank these from the measurements? |
26/09/2016 21:08:04 |
Has anybody compared a digital caliper with venier of similar quality? As mention previously for accurancy l use a mic everytime. My Lidle caliper is great for quick and rough measurements 0.1 mm batteries last for ever, I only use quality batteries.

Thread: Delivery Problems |
26/09/2016 20:53:43 |
Unfortunately its down to theindividuals they employ or exploit (allegegly) . My wife's xmas present never arrived I still get emails from them saying they are trying to sort the problem. It was replaced by JL in the end. I live in a rural area and it turns out the delivery driver did not want to get her car muddy so said she could not find the house. I have two recent deliveries that were OK but on Friday my wife found a jiffy bag stuffed in the hedge at our paddock gate, it was for one of my neighbours who lives down a different track. I do get annoyed when a suppliers quotes Royal Mail prices then uses Hermes All others courriers have been great at least you can contact them. |
Thread: Any one know were I can buy one of these speed control boards |
23/09/2016 00:07:39 |
Dave, It may be worth removing the PCB from the heatsink and check for dry joints. The joints to the high wattage resistors are a common problem as they get hot. Poor contacts on the push on connectors can also get hot and cause the solder joints to degrade. Also look for any sourch marks on components. Can't see any on the photos though. Hugh |
Thread: MEX Photos for those that stayed home |

Thread: Air Compressor recommendation? |
07/04/2016 21:52:48 |
Hi Ed I use 50 ltr one similar to one you are looking at. Only problems i have had relate to starting. It does not like the cold and pops 13 amp fuses occasionally . I was advised to use a 16 amp mcb protected spur and fit a industrial plug (caravan type). I had one setup already for my welding kit so it was straight forward, no problems since. Hugh |

Thread: New Zealand visit |

Hi Ian many thanks for your ideas. I now understand the reason for the flag. Visited MOTAT and the Peter Jackson WW1 musuem in Blenhem, brilliant ! Extra goodie when we landed at Omaka was the sight and sounds of the resently restored Anson taking off. Hugh |
Thread: Couple of things at Lidl |
26/03/2016 08:35:40 |
Boughr a numberof tools from Lidle over the years. All ok if you do not push them too hard. Best buys have been chain saw sharpener £30 and 60 ltr vaccum cleaner with integral power socket for power tools. Never bought spanners due to earlier mishap with a cheap one only buy top quality ones now. Hugh |
Thread: couriers |

Hermes are an utter disaster. Still getting emails from them about a delivery they should have made 2 months ago. Since cancelled and replaced by J Lewis. Private cars so as stated depends on the idividual involved. Saw the way parcels were thrown into a car boot what ever it was must have been delivered in component form in the end! DPD and PC the best but had no real trouble with the major players despite being difficult to find. |

Thread: Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations |
10/02/2016 00:08:52 |
Bought a powerfix (60Ltr) wet and dry from Lidle 4 years ago. Still going strong. It has a powerful suck and blow option. It has useful power socket that switches on the vacuum automatically when the item connected is powered up. Only problem I have had was caused by leaving coal ash in which when damp corroded a small hole. There is also a smaller one but I don't believe it has the power socket feature. Cost £39.99. |
