you quote kph not mph does that not increase the size of your minefield?. If your speedo is marked kph not mph do you not have to overlay that with mph markings?, if so the overlay could be graduated to suit.

If you use a chucking reamer you should be ok as the only cut on the 45deg lead, I do have one or two old fashioned reamers that cut on the front as well like an end mill and have used these in the past to ream blind bores like you need on hand pumps.

You could let the ball down by heating to red heat and covering in insulting material to let it cool slowly then you can work on it. For the female make internal form tool. For a perfect match run them together with a little abrasive paste.

when cutting tee slots people use a hinge to lift the tool completely clear after each cut, this requires quite a bit of extra stroke either end.

If you just use cellulose sanding sealer on all surfaces corrosion is eliminatied.
