yes I think you a correct I was also told it is probably in a shipping container on it's way to Poland

I also today put the gate and new fences up to 1.9 meters today and fitted a new security lights.

this has also made me look at the security of the house as it has made me paranoid about them getting in to my property

we all have the skills to make a trip wire device with a percussion detonator from a cartridge this will not kill them but scare the living daylights out of them.

it cannot be illegal as it is just like a bird scarer that will not harm so you cannot be arested

Thread: Workshop Break in
30/12/2013 16:25:22

hi I looked at one on eBay under shed alarms barking dog it is £44.00

I also do not have any windows as when I had it built I had a big debate as the supplier said it only comes with windows but I got what I wanted in the end.

The police did say they need a very good description form any defects like missing bolts , cap or hex cracks and scratches ser No and quirky things . when they do a raid on someone's house you stand a better chance of getting it back as there data base searches for the info you have given them

I has a 3 page statement just for the compressor

hi thanks for all the comments got a alarm today and some steel make a door bar

I am still gutted the someone has been in my space I was surprised that it was only the compressor that went as I had 2 Stuart engines on the bench.

this the door bar I am going to fabricate and mark all my tools  if possible

Hi all the Police have just left after doing a 2 hour statement as some thieving F****** ?? Ba***** ?? has nicked my Clarke compressor from my workshop over night . I have very good security I think I had 2 good locks but apparently not

they lifted it over a 5 foot gate all I can say is I hope it chokes them.

all the things I want to do the police say I cannot do as I will have to do time in the nick even carpet gripper on the fence

the strange thing is it was the only thing that was taken all my other left tools off to the DIY store for more security bits and bobs

any suggestions

Thread: What do I need to add a stepper.

This is a 12v clutch and a 12v motor from a car window runs from a small transformer as i wanted it to be low voltage and safe.

it was easy to fit but a few months to get all the bits from eBay and the scrap yard, i have the motor running all the time and just switch it on and off as i want it and it works very well the clutch still let you use the table by hand.

Thread: eBAY Charges
22/11/2013 18:22:02

I agree that some sellers do rip people off on the postage and these should dealt with the advances in computer tech and fillers in programs eBay can target the abusers of the system

BUT they do not want to as they need to make more money from the poor

I have to purchase box's bubble wrap packing chips & tape I always add a very small amount to cover this but it is pence NOT pounds also the post office have not helped as they have screwed this up as well with extra cost's

also if you sell an item that is heavy and will cost say £12.50 to post and the buyer wants to pick up and you say yes and then they go and pay in PayPal by mistake

if you do not send the invoice you still have to pay the post fee this sucks, as this happened to me last week

the only was I got the fees back was to agree with the buyer to cancel the transaction this is the only way to get the full fees back and then sell it out of eBay

so caution please

it is 10% selling fee and 10% on the total post fee

Thread: Myford plus help
15/11/2013 14:14:47

re post for help

13/11/2013 16:03:21

hi guys I was cleaning out my drip tray as I do every week on my Myford and I found a screw, washer and a disc spring washer as the photo I found it behind the motor around the back on the tray it is definitely from the lath as the screw and the heavy washer look the same as the one on the side of the gearbox it looks like it puts tension on the end of a shaft.

I have looked all over the lath with a torch and had no luck finding where it came from as anyone got a parts manual for a Myford 7 plus big bore

thanks Kevin

Thread: Winter Project
29/10/2013 14:06:20

hi Trevor & Mick thanks for that it looks good have watched the item does it need any special castings as it is my preference not to have them, perhaps for the wheels.

The reason is  I have lots of brass, cast iron & tool steel off cuts as my son is a toolmaker I will also look at the gauge 1 option need to research this and the availability of drawing.

thanks for the suggestions
