7 forum posts 3 photos | Hi Been browsing the forums for a few months now and finding my way around, some very interesting models and machine information which is where I need some help. I purchased the mill drill less a motor which someone has tried to alter , I would be grateful if someone could advise from the picture what model the mill is, if anyone has a parts list or could advise on the motor kW and frame size required that would be great. I realise you might require some measurements which I can post up. Ignore the pully sitting on top it was just a handy place to sit it. Thanks in advance |

![]() 558 forum posts 28 photos | It's a Chester Champion circa 1990's. I've got one with slightly different handles and column raising system Original motor is 0.5hp/0.37Kw face (flange) mounted. I've converted mine to 3 phase by making a spindle to accept a taper bush and thence a new single drive pulley Spindle is Morse No.3 which means tooling can be bought (collect chuck, slitting saw arbor, drill chuck) I've just got to sort a column locking mechanism to keep the column in register when I loosen it to raise or lower. Yours might already have this John Edited By John Coates on 22/10/2013 07:58:06 |

![]() 3988 forum posts 1799 photos | Hi Jim, as has been said it is a Chester Champion Mill/Drill, although the one in the picture below has a different colour scheme the specifications are the same. The photo below shows the motor plate on my one and the only imformation in the parts list is that shown as in the type. They discontinued them around 2007/8 ish. Warco produced an almost identical one known as the ZX-15 and discontinued them a year or so after Chester. Regards Nick. Edited By Nicholas Farr on 22/10/2013 22:26:58 |
