Hi a silly question with 5" Tich fire box boiler stay's do they need to be thread and screwed in then silver soldered in or the copper rivets located with a good fit then silver soldered. I have googled photos and it looks like a mix of screwed and held in place with a spring washer then soldered what is the best way to go about this. thanks Kevin

Thread: 5" Tich build information |
20/01/2018 18:09:01 |
Hi guys I am building a 5" Tich I picked this as it was a beginners loco. I am in despair of the lack of information on the 5" Tich I can see lots have been built and half finished ones that are on ebay . I am on my second set of drawing one from the 60’s and a print from GLR it has shown holes that was missing. i have looked at the 3” ½ info all looks the same and well documented except for the boiler that is different as this is what i am having problems with is there a book for the 5” Tich as i spend hours a hours looking at the drawings it came very close to scraping it and move on... Any help with this will be welcome Thanks Kevin |

Hi Guys I am looking to buy a Sieg sxs3 bench milling machine in next month or two has anyone got any experience with it before I commit the funds. I am looking at this mill because the head adjustment is at a low level as I am disabled. looking at most mills they adjust at the top I have a Chester mill and it is getting more painful to stretch up to adjust the head up and down. if anyone has experience I will be grateful for your comments Thanks Kevin

Thread: Early Bird ticktes MEX |
13/06/2016 13:37:05 |
Hi All i have just booked my early bird tickets as i have done for many years to my surprise it is only a E Ticket you still have to queue at the till to get your reference number verified that you get by Email . So this is not a queue jumper ticket as on the phone they said you will still have to queue but it will be quicker, ????? so no advance tickets . this will be fun as i will be in a mobility scooter ty Kevin |
