Continuing the gardening theme: notwithstanding that there is work to be done in the workshop, I trimmed more of my 9 ft conifer hedge. It isn't getting any easier as I get older and more arthritic! But, why are badgers (I think) digging up my potato patch? Maybe because Badgers are rather partial to worms amongst other things? Certainly dig up my garden and no spuds there!

Looks like it might be a good job our house has separate RCBOs in the consumer unit for each circuit. Edited By V8Eng on 09/04/2023 13:52:36 Only good if the RCBO's are double pole type, many fitted are only SP devices which still leaves the problem of neutral to earth tripping of the main RCCB if fitted. Emgee
The Electrician who did the work said they are all double pole and a main switch in there. Edited By V8Eng on 09/04/2023 15:18:02 |

Have you got another sort of phone hanging about to plug in and test with? We have a three handset 4600 system on Plusnet and never had any problem like that (oh dear that’s chancing fate).

Well it’s obviously not an industrial variant, they usually came with a wear resistant thick brown coating. Edited By V8Eng on 05/03/2023 15:34:00 |

That’s a very nice find Michael, I agree with your 1 to 3 list. I would add that it saves putting expensive phones at risk or having dead batteries in electronic devices at the time of most need.

The up to date modern standards MK version of that box and socket is about £15 at various wholesalers. Sorry to say it but personally I find it very difficult to see any point in hunting for an ancient bit of kit like that. No personal offence whatsoever intended. Maybe a bit late to the thread but Ceramicists use similar items. Not with same size at both ends. Link to one of the many suppliers here. Edited By V8Eng on 17/02/2023 21:40:45 |
