Thread: Couple of interesting books free to download
23/06/2017 18:16:13

They are great books, I have them both in hardback.

They give an idea when the currency changed, the engine one is 1969 and cost 18 shillings and the boiler one is 1971 and cost £1-25.

I still have a read through them, they are well worn.

If it's any help, when I spin my spindle in neutral I get a lot of rattling, turned out it was the turny bits the chuck key fits into, I wrapped a turn of tape round the chuck and .............total silence.

now I know what it is i can ignore it.

Oh gawd, that didn't come out the way it was meant.

Thread: Large Diameter on Myford ML7
18/12/2016 19:22:40

I think it's British humour, Americans can't do it and some don't even understand it.

like the bit when they made the fuel tank, " I'm using aluminium because that's how it's spelt".

priceless.laugh

Thread: Safety and superglue chucks
30/11/2016 15:46:35

That's the thing with Chris at Clickspring, he makes me feel so dam' inadequate.crying

whats really annoying is, I've got the same lathe, doesn't seem to work the same for me. Sigh.

Oh well, one can dream.

Roy.

He does turn a spigot on the superglue chuck that fits in the flywheel hole so that should stop it flying off sideways.

he must also be able to get better superglue over there than the watered down rubbish on sale here.
