Many thanks DC1 and Kelvin, so not only the wolves are listening to the bleating of the sheep. Only the long posts and the "See for free" feature to sort and we're nearly there.

Thread: Do you get what you pay for ?.

Carbon steel tooling holds an edge FAR better than HSS, but is dependant on what you are cutting. Perviding you adjust the hole size to suit the application you should have no problems.

Machine tapping?? Got a propper tapping head ??

Sad that some have to threaten to leave all because the "Marketing" wallies think they know best. In PROPPER organisations marketing usually listen to the customers and alter their strategy to market forces?? Naaaaa, Perhaps they are unable to READ. (See my previous posting).

Oh the enlightened times we live in.

Another Question DC1. On other web sites there is a Cancel membership button. Can your designers fit one onto here so that instead of stopping posting, a more obvious vision is shown???

One of the advantages of coming from a more enlightened age was that when problems occurred, we were taught to go through a systematic checking approach and piece by piece elliminate the various options to achieve a solution.

Todays techy geniei leave school with a degree in illiteracy and an inability to LISTEN. Perhaps "The office" should be reminded with a suitable length of 4"x2" (100x50) WOOD not metal that before embarking on yet more gimmicks "Hey lads, look what I'VE just done", that the same old same olds keep coming back and untill they are sorted, the perpitraitors are just annoying the users.

  Regards  Ian.

We get the stupid subscription pop-up but we still can't take a test ride to see what you're trying to extract more pictures of HRH from our pockets.

Thread: Plated Morse taper

Read what I rote mate. Yes I have. Had to have my forks on my Italian motorcycle operated on in this way.

The Italians are fantastic designers and ingineers but can't paint and definately can't bl***y chrome plate.

  Re-iterate, go for HARD chroming.

   Regards  Ian.

21/04/2010 16:20:09
That's why I pointed to Hard Chrome David.

  Regards Ian.
21/04/2010 12:36:36
But idealy go for hard chrome plating. the people that do this usually grind the finished item to size.

O I, Chrome is colourless, It''s the Nickel plating beforehand that shines and that's soft chroming.

The original site developers really should get a good kicking for stealing money for the abismal performance we have had to tolerate since ME went back online. I'll bet P.M is rotating in his grave. Overlap in"Tap Magic", AGAIN (Overlap that is), subscriber digital veiwing AGAIN, "Have a look how the digital issues work" No it don't. Inability to delete dual postings, No reply numbers.

1 out of 100, REALLY must try harder.

  Regards?  Ian.

Take Model Engineer and Model Engineers' Workshop magazines for a trial run here.

Already mentioned on Ramons "Racer" thread, the nylon prop will have "Dried out". Any "Old" ones boil in water for quarter of an hour and leave to cool submerged in the pan.

Providing you don't sharpen them, wooden props ALWAYS left a better cut.
