G-APSA isn't airworthy anymore unfortunately. The DC-6 in question will be the Red Bull DC-6B OE-LDM. She's made a few flights in and out of Cranfield this week. David |

OV-10 Bronco? It is a twin-boom aeroplane that is commonly used for air-to-air photography. I recall making an Airfix kit of a Bronco "ahem" years ago, but sadly not the aircarft in question. The aircraft was twin rudder, not twin boom. The horizontal stabilisers on the tail had a significant dihedral, so quite distinctive. But I still don't know what it was. Andrew Sounds a bit like a Dassault Flamant. David |

I took my 3-phase Bridgeport 2-speed 380/440V pancake motor to a motor rewinder in Southampton. He rewound it for me, so it's now a 3-phase 2-speed 230V motor. It now runs just fine on an IMO Jaguar VXR inverter which is 230V single phase in, 230V 3-phase out. The rewinding cost me about £300 three years ago. I only power this motor with the inverter, not the rest of the (Denford) milling machine that the head is fitted to. David |

Hi John What make is the lathe? For my Boxford 330 for example, they are listed as a spare part, no. X10-02-011. Not cheap at £20.27 each though! See **LINK** Hope this helps David |

SWMBO and I are the owners of a 150 year old oak. Dennis, you're absolutely right, this really is a bumper year for acorns. More this year than any time I can remember. Damn squirrels bury them everywhere, we're forever digging up small oak saplings. Spent 2 hours this afternoon raking acorns... We've never had much success with the wire tine rakes, but some of the plastic rakes are quite effective. The ones with flat tines are the best. This kind of thing for example: **LINK** It's still hard work though. If anyone can think of an easier way, I'd be most interested! David |

I can also recommend Steve Cox of Landylift. A few years ago he moved my Denford milling machine from Lincolnshire down to Hampshire. A very professional job, well pleased. No connection, just a satisfied customer. David |

However I would also point out that the responsibility for ensuring conformity with all relevent standards/directives lies with the person or organisation that places the product on the market in the EU. So, in the case of Chinese imports it is not the manufacturer who is resposible but the importer/distributor. If you import directly from China and do not resell the product no laws are broken. It is a case of caveat emptor. Russell Perhaps that's another meaning for the Chinese version of the CE mark, Caveat Emptor... David |

Hi Geoff Try Googling G-ATNV to see if that looks similar, a PA-24-260 with tip tanks. There are some pictures out there showing it with dark blue tip tanks and fuselage underside. David |

John & Neil, I have to agree that it doesn't look like a real engine. David |

Item 23 seems to be a pipe that runs between the sump and the item in question. If you click on item 23 it says: "Lubrication Oil Suction Pipe. The suction pipe connects the sump and lubrication oil pump (suction side)" So I would say it's a lubrication oil pump. If you look at the other pipe from the item in question, it seems to go to the side of the bock, maybe feeding oil galleries. Regards David |

Hi Neil As you have the software skills, no problem then! All the transmitters I've seen that had mixing also had the facility to switch it in or out, so it could be used on different models. Regards, David |
26/11/2016 10:34:39 |
Hi Ian It all depends on the skills of the individual involved! I can do simple op amp design, but have never really got into programming. I suggested that doing the mixing in the transmitter is easier because all you're dealing with is analogue voltages from the stick potentiometers. I used to work as a test technician for a British manufacturer of model RC gear back in the 80's and that's the way we did it then! If you're into PIC programming, then it can certainly be done that way. Regards, David |
26/11/2016 09:02:01 |
Hi Neil In many ways the throttle & steering mixing is most easily done in the transmitter. If your transmitter doesn't have this facility, it could be added. A small PCB with a few op amps is all that is needed. Try Googling "elevon mixer", there's an example circuit on the RC Groups website. Regards, David |

I was one of the ones whose copy of 4524 went missing. Like you, I had no response to emails. What did work was to phone the very helpful lady in the subscriptions department. My replacement copy arrived about 5 days later, as promised. David |
