Thread: Can anyone recognise this mains plug/adaptor? |

More than just swapping for different countries. It is designed to fit through a letterbox although some don't quite fit. You mean so that you can sneakily plug it in, in your neighbour's hall? ..certainly worth thinking about, these days.. edit; missing apostrophe.. Edited By DiogenesII on 26/12/2022 11:03:41 |

I've got / had something simiar (also photographic eqt?); I think it's so that one can slide in another adaptor when travelling to a country with different sockets.. |

One of the strong points of the 'wedge-type' variant is that the design of the mechanism is accepting of a wide latitude of fit - a dovetail with tapered gib pushes the holder onto the bearing surfaces of the block with great firmness. I don't know whether the piston type has the same latitude, it operates on a completely different principle. I've never bought or made a '100' - style holder that didn't fit; (the holders are easily made, they are a plain block with an open slot for the tool shank and an open dovetail for the post). Bought mine from ARC (does anyone else evensupply the 'wedge' - type?), some time ago and still regard it as money really well spent.

Perhaps a countersunk fixing could cause an unconstrained magnet to split if carelessly fixed.. ..is the housing to provide support..? 'containment' Edited By DiogenesII on 18/12/2022 08:24:11 |

If you search online for 'Sewing machine oil can' you should find a ubiquitous 120ml natural-coloured PE bottle with a black cap that has a thin metal spout, cost about £3.. ..the spouts have a tapered end for ball oilers and work well with 68 weight which is a bit thicker than that they were designed for - it'll stay in the bottle 'til you give the sides a squeeze.

It is selfish of me, I know, but I do appreciate *the value implicit in the idea that I may be able to* 'send out' for fuels & other substances that might otherwise require one to purchase & collect them in person. With the greatest of respect, may I offer the suggestion that publicising this issue on an open forum may well result in an adverse outcome? Can't we sweep this discussion under the carpet? Chronos do a steel one but you'd have to shell out a whole £22.. Chronos Electronic Digital Caliper 6" / 150mm ..they claim 0.01mm /5 tenths resolution, 0.03mm / one thou accuracy..
