I am 41 i had gout a few years ago my right foot swelled up and was painful it was hard to even drive an automatic car. the doc gave me some anti inflammatory tablets and it went then came back a little bit but it has not come back since. now i have a bit of a problem with my left elbow, I cant straighten it right up sometimes and it is hard to grab things certain ways. I don't know if that is to do with the same thing. |

i turned the adjustable regulator down a bit and that seems to help a lot. |

Thanks for the help everyone. i will just try putting a tube on the burner to see if it helps. |
03/04/2018 09:29:40 |
The smaller burner has got air holes in the side and the bigger one i put on has air holes in the back and they both go out as soon as the boiler goes red so maybe it has got to do oxygen in that area. i did have the torch horizontal all the time when i was using it. |

I will have to have an experiment and see if it keeps going when i hold it outside ect. i think it may be lack of oxygen in the immediate area. i was thinking of putting a tube around the burner so it draws air nearer to my hand (further away from heat) |

Was the shed door open or closed ?
I think it may have been open but it is only a small shed. |

Hello all. I have a cheap magnum propane blowtorch. I made a little hearth to silver solder a tiny boiler and as the boiler got red just about ready to put the solder on the torch goes out. I am using it in a little shed. do you think i need to use it outside or do the hearth a bit different so it does not suffocate. the boiler was the corner. Thanks Henry |

The one here in Essex has got a parts yard down the end,you have to walk through the main yard to get to it. They tell you to go in and have a look and take what you want off the cars. |

I'll grant automatic gearboxes are miles better than they were ... perhaps more efficient than a manual ... but automatic gearboxes can't engine brake ... seems like a compelling safetynet argument for slowing the car down if there is a brake failure ... perhaps going down a steep hill. At the end of where i live is a little steep bit and after it snows i have to put the car neutral or the automatic box pushes you down,it just slides. |

Strange goings on. The OP is named as henryb and appears to be asking if he should pay £78 for the book. I sent a pm informing him of my internet search where I found a bookseller offering one for £40. A reply was received from "Colin G" saying that my quote is expensive, he has 2 copies of which he "would be willing to part with one for £30." 1) Why name change? 2)Buyer/Seller/ Scammer? or what? Try to help but confused by the above. BTW, I am not interested in the book or building the model. Think I'll just log out and retire to workshop

Mine has done that a couple of times i think it may be a bit of dust in the pot switch or wear. |

Thanks. i will get the first one on then clean it out to make sure there is no grit in there then grease it. |

Ok thanks everyone i did not know it could be so complex what with too much grease and running them in. |

Merry Christmas all. I am changing the spindle bearings on my cj18a lathe and i have got some angular contact bearings but they are a bit open so i was wondering whether to pack them with grease or thick oil as you cant get to them to lubricate them regular. Thanks Henry |
