My iPhone-6 is about to become obsolete.

My Daughters bought me an iphone- 6 some time ago because they thought my old android phone was so yesterday. I have never got used to the iphone and look forward to the excuse to go back to what I had.

Thread: Inverter or converter
14/03/2022 17:43:37

Robert, like you I have a 3HP lathe and 2HP mill. The lathe does not support star/delta so I bought a Transwave static inverter. The lathe runs fine on the static inverter but the mill would only run for a short time before tripping out. A friend fitted the mill with a VFD for me and all has been well for over ten years. I am not confident to attempt the wiring, best left to the experts.

Thread: First Lathe - Colchester Triumph (1960s roundhead) vs Warco WM250v
12/03/2022 17:35:30

I was in engineering all my working life and used many Colchester lathes, most of them nice to use. All where worn to some degree. At one place we ran Colchester Triumph 2000, replaced every 5 years totally worn out. industrial lathe's have a hard life in their early days.

Thread: Too lazy or too stupid?

I have always been a prolific reader, never watch TV and have only looked at You Tube on a few occasions. Google does get a fair bit of use though.

Thread: I need to screw cut a 19 TPI thread.?
28/02/2022 08:57:45

Years ago when I had a Southbend lathe and was faced with cutting a 19 tpi thread I cut a slightly sloppy 20 tpi. Over a few pitches that I required it worked but not ideal or correct.

Thread: hi from Belfast ...

BASS 666 Welcome along to the forum. I am not a Myford man so no idea about the attachment. I do get over to Belfast two or three times a year when my Wife visits her family and I watch the motorcycle racing. Enjoy the lathe.

Thread: T.P.I.

10 TPI will be just what you need. I only keep 10 and 14 TPI blades and always cope.
