Thread: ALBA 2S Shaper Refurbishment - Lots of questions!
23/06/2017 16:06:36

Copper tubes on motor often just had a small flap over them.

Couple of drops of oil to lube the bearings.

A manual is available from lathes.co.uk, link here..

Thread: Help with burner for Stuart boiler
22/06/2017 20:39:34

As Maurice intimated and the fact that your flames go out shows that the flame is not hot enough.

The copper tube is taking heat from the flame due to a lack of fuel supply. Open up the slots, I wouldvsiggest trying on a practice piece first.

Thread: Can an electric power steering pump drive a hydraulic ram

Or try a Citroen hydraulic pump, belt driven, seen for +/- £75, produces over 2200psi.

Low voltage safety breakers have been part of the commercial world fir many years.

One of the potential problems in the UK is the stability of the mains frequency due to the varying inputs from green energy.

It used to be that the generators, power stations, could set their power output at 50Hz and there it would stay. Now however they have to keep adjusting it to compensate for the inputs outside of their control.

This has most affect on VFD and can cause frequent tripping off.

Thread: Small cable connecting

If they are small cables then I would recommend press fit connectors, these are self sealing. I have used them when at work on machinery.

10,000rpm clutch drop?

Mike

.

Nope.

Besides the slipper clutch should have taken care of it.

Nick

Doesn't a slipper clutch only slip on the over-run?

Thread: Air in the workshop

Not an expert in this subject but would suggest checking that the pipe/tubing used is suitable for use with compressor oil as there will, no doubt, be some carry over.

Is there a locking screw/nut somewhere that has tightened itself?

Trust Tracy Tools, I've not had any problems with their stuff.

But, if you do they will sort it out.

No affiliation, just a local firm.

Interesting read, thanks.

I suppose that there is always at least one person who dislikes whichever form of procedure, burial or cremation, is going to be performed so you'll never win.
