Hi All,

I looked into these a while ago and was immediately put off by the staggering prices of even quite small output machines, in the thousands of £.

now I see on P interest they are available for under £50!

I guess it must be a scam but does anyone know much about thes things as on the face of it they could be the answer to my tool cleaning prayers!

one place is Frederick store or similar.

Myfords were started by Cecil Moore and his wife and after his death run by his son and grandson. AKAIK there was never anyone called Myford involved.

.

Myford was his middle name

Hi All,

Here we have a long handled set of compound action pliers with ball jaws.

When fully closed the ball just touch; when wide open the gap is only about 2mm or a bit less.

No makers name but a really cute "3 OWLS" logo as shown.

What on earth are they for please?

Thread: Battery powered lawn mowers?
22/04/2023 08:44:11

Hi All,

Will be checking out the offerings from Makita over the weekend. I already have the twin pack screwdriver and impact driver with 2 batteries so will see if they fit.

As said our lawn is really very small so should be OK.

I have one. I zip tie the charger to the handle and run an extension lead to it from the house. Saves a lot of time.

Hi All,

My wife is the gardener in our house and is looking to get a new lightweight cordless battery operated lawn mower similar to the Greenworks one being shown on TV at the moment.

Does anyone have any experience of these or recommendations?

i believe that battery life is the main issue but we only have a small lawn area.

looking at the twin 24V battery 48V model at around £260 or so.

How are these held in the lathe and what is the spring for please?

Martin

19/04/2023 15:59:33

Hi All,

Just going through a pile of auction lots and came across this small tin of really small brazed carbide cutters and ONE holder or collet.

Each cutter has a spring at the back.

The back of the "collet" has 4 numbers as shown?

I am guessing watchmaking lathe or similar but no idea really?

Any help most welcome

Thread: Strange Small Castings?
22/03/2023 17:27:01

The flat side diameter is slightly wider than the other side, a slight taper from bottom to top.

Assured that they are NOT tuning pegs.

MMMM???

Hi All,

Just picked up a small auction ;lot which has a lot (30+) of these small brass or bronze castings in it.

Came from a guitar place but am assured these are NOT guitar items.

My first thought was thumbscrews for marking gauges etc but they are too short?

Anyone have any thoughts please?

There are loads of photos in my album that are no longer need by me. Is there any way to go through them and delete the unwanted please?
