Solved the issue

I have solved my issue I found that if I 'ripped' a audio cd onto a memory stick the problem went away so I wrote my songs to cd's and 'ripped' to memory stick job done.

I'm not suggesting this is the only way but it's the only one which worked for me

Maybe take a link out of a guy's book that worked for me some years back, when he was sent a form he would firstly he would send whoever had sent him the form asking loads them loads of questions name, rank, address and phone numbers, age., why did they want the information, would the information be private or sold etc you can see where this is going I do remember it was 5 A4 pages and it was surprising how many he never heard from again wink

Now that Ive sorted the track name etc and loaded a USB memory stick with audio files I plugged it in the car only to find the content scrabbled ! I placed 5 folders on the memory stick in which I placed the songs mp3 the memory stick was formatted fats 32 so my question is is there a defined structure for the files and folders for use in a car's entertainment equipment ?

Suggestion would be welcomed

Well for what I wanted to done I have sorted it out with kid3 but did shoot myself in the foot I copied the the album file to my desktop now this is on a linux machine I then copied the file onto a memory stick and went off to test it in the car it wouldn't read the memory stick saying unable to open 'WTF' came across my mine then the penny dropped copied the content of the file into a folder on a windows machine and it worked a treat. The only down side being the album still shows as unknown need to find how to tag the album name other than that very happy yes

Thread: Latest telephone scam

Good morning, all,

Our telephone rang this morning.

The caller, who sounded like Peter Sellers in 'Goodness, gracious me' mode, claimed to be calling from Virgin Media to tell me that our internet connection was about to be cut off.

(In our area, the Virgin Media phone numbers all start with a '3', I guess that's how he knew. )

I asked him what account number he thought he was calling.

He rang off!

When the fiber cable were installed many years ago for some reason they didnt come up our cul de sac so when Im in the mood let let the broadband guys try and sell it to me spending considerable time trying to work out why there are 6 houses not on their list wink

H

Simples.

Best regards,

Swarf, Mostly!

I think the OP's problem might stem from the fact that his original CD is a compilation made by himself so won't be tagged or recognised as a commercial album would be. Really over my pay-grade but I think he might need a more powerful audio-editor such as Audacity, but that's a fairly big learning curve.

Hi Clive

Ive played around tagging one of my albums with Kid3 on linux and it's gone OK the only problem I'm left with is that I can't display the album title maybe I need different software !

Made a start on one album and done all the tagging maybe I should have stated the albums I,m concerned with are albums Ive compiled myself, so how do I 'tag' the album ?
