Hi, On a recent visit to South Africa I came across a couple of derilict steam powered drilling machine by the above company and thought what a wonderful model one of these would make. My question is ,does anyone know of the existance of any drawings for one of these engins in any scale or even full size. While i have the skills to build the model, i dont have the time or inclination to scale up from the photos that i took at the time so any info would be most welcoM. Thanks Tony. |

Hi you may be interested to know that the new STUART business is up and running, i have just bought some castings for a couple of referb projects and had a chat to them on the phone. It seem their long term plan is to progresively re introduce some of the engines that were discontinued and build up the stocks of depleated castings in fact i think the SIRUS is now available again as a set of castings .So good new all round. Thread: three sided tool post |
13/07/2012 22:54:31 |
Hi, thanks for your info guys, looks like it may have to be the diy holder but a quick change version is what i was realy looking for .Im surprised that the far eastern suppliers have not come up with one yet. I have a couple of extended holders but they do tend to chatter on average cuts due to the overhang. |

Hi does anybody know if and where i can get a triangular three position quick change tool post of a size to fit a myford I have a square one but its always in the way of the tailstock when doing small bits of work and it seems to me that a triangular one would be a much better design as it gives alot more clearance Thanks Tony |
