Hi, is there anyone out there that has or has used the small Warco cutter grinder? I am considering buying one with the attachments for drill and lathe tool sharpening which I have always done freehand but fancy touching up the odd milling cutter. What are your experiences and are these machines any good?

It's funny really as I finished my apprenticeship as a tool & cutter grinder many years ago making cutters for the macine shop auto's and capstan lathes, thats showing my age. So if anyone has any information about these machines I would appreciate it.

Thanks David for your reply and link which was informative but does'nt cover any detail of anyone putting one to full use. i e grinding a slot or end mill using a finger if it is possible.

I have one of these machines and have sharpened both end mills and slot drills sharpening the flutes is not easy as it is difficult to get a smooth action as you grind them I keep trying various modifications getting better but not there yet.

I also bought the drill sharpening attachment its not very well made and does not appear to be capable of the precision required to sharpen a drill. Having said that that I cannot make sense of the instructions, so at the moment I have admitted defeat with drill sharpening. I tend to use a lot of small drills up to 6mm when they are blunt I replace them.

It has been used for the final grinding of D bits and other cutters.

Would I buy one with hindsight yes but it does not see much use about once every couple of months and I have a session sharpening milling cutters.

Thanks for your reply Olly, These comments are giving me a better insight into the usefulness of these machines. I will probably get one if only to use for a diamond wheel setup.
