About to order some of these:

Just wondering when you would use the hexagonal instead of the square?

When in a 3 jaw chuck?

Milling nuts and bolt heads are the main use for me. OK mine are 5c bought way back when but principle is same.

Hi Chris,
I bought the hexagonal one to use for sharpening 6 flute milling cutters. As others have said you could use them as a quick way drilling 3 or 6 holes around something.

Use with a V-block and the six-sided block can be used to mill 12 facets. I bet even John S. hasn't worked that one out

Might be a good idea to point out to Chris that the idea behind these fixtures is for using them on a mill, not as cheap collet holder in a lathe chuck.

I didn't think of turning them!

I usually use an indexer.

Yes I would use it for holding round things on the milling machine.
