Gauge 1 Britannia

I am about to begin building a gauge 1 Britannia. Does anyone know if there has been a construction series for this loco in Model Engineer? If so, do you know volume and issue numbers

There is not a single entry for "gauge one" in the entire database

Plenty for -Britannia- though

-gauge Britannia- brings up quite a few

I considered(dreamt about) having a go at a gauge one loco at one point but it seems to be a pretty exclusive "club" and I found quite a few negative messages on boards

Apparently they don't do open days, and outside visitors are only allowed by invitation

Thanks Ady, you confirmed my findings about gauge 1 entries. I will plough through the results from -gauge Britannia- as you suggest.

I'm sorry to correct you, but there are 60 entries for "gauge one", 340 for "gauge 1" and 1 for "gauge 1 Britannia".

The gauge 1 club G1MRA was a perfectly friendly club when I was a member. Went to a number of get togethers and met some interesting people.and I'm sure it is the same now,

It is so easy for someone to smear a club or society on social media we must be very careful to treat such reports wiih caution. I have seen some real idiot reports where someone obviously turned up at a club expecting to be treated like the second coming. When they then collar the first random club member and don't get offered free membership for life they grump off and write an offensive report.

Sorry Bazyle, I must be missing something. I cannot relate your post to anything that has been said on this thread.

I also have found G1MRA people to be very friendly.

There hasn't been much written up on gauge 1 Britannia designs, althought if i remember correctly there was a brief description of an example witten by it's builder who I think was Bob Hines back in the early 70s.
