I would like to fit a stepper to a Vertex 6" H/V table

16 forum posts | I am looking for suggestions about the size and power of stepper to drive this table. It is a standard table with a 90 turn worm giving 4 degrees for 1 rev of the spindle. I don't expect that I will be taking large cuts or that it will be revolving heavy lumps and speed is not an issue, but I am sure that a lot of people have done this before, so I would be grateful for any input. both with nema 34 motors with 1:2 gearing with a drive belt
both work well and I couldnt wish for more power or speed

Lester Caine makes a kit to fit direct onto a 6" or 4" Vertex table.

16 forum posts | Thank you, both Ian and John for your helpfull replies. As I have a suitable size 27 stepper motor in my "come in handy" box, I will go with that and hopefully keep the group posted along the way. Mike |
