I just bought a set of castings for an amanco open crank engine, its an old breisch design, does anybody know of any construction articles or has anyone built one

There are a few builds over om HMEM though none are that detailed, just do a search for "Hired Man" Also take a look at teh scale models section on Smokstak Forum

You can stil get them, the patterns were bought by michael Pershinsky in the US

 

Alan Thatcher who shows several Hit & Miss engines and is an occasional visitor here has one fitted with his own rather nice littel Magneto.

I bought this set from Michael a week or so ago, the drawinings are a bit sketchy and hard to read in parts

I plan to start cutting soon so will check out the HMEM website ( if I can remember my login details)

Keep us posted of progress. I've just started on a 1/3rd Galloway, even with the new drawings there are still some missing bits - all good fun.

I will likely write up the build on MEM and possibly HMEM but in the meantime there are some photos in this album which may come in handy for machining the base casting.
