I've noticed on a few loco projects that the author has used the original drawings on which they have based their design.

Where do they get the original design drawings from

My usual source for original drawings is the drawings archives at the National Railway Museum, York - worth a search online if you're looking for somethin specific.Try : www.nrm.org.uk/ResearchAndArchive/archiveandlibrarycollections/ as a starting point
