in the book for building tich it call's for brass to be used for the stay nipples etc but when i was talking to a fellow model engineer at the ally pally show they said that brass and boilers is dangrous, so should i use bronze if so what grade lg2, pb1, pb102, colphos or is brass gonna be ok in a model this small as i have loads of brass hex that will do the job,

Theres always someone who will tell you horror stories about using brass on copper, but for the amount of usage the typical 3 1/2 boiler gets it wont make a jot. If your using it for stay or boss remember it expands like billyo when heated and always ends up oversize! Bronze is better, but megger expensive!
