126 forum posts 32 photos | in the book for building tich it call's for brass to be used for the stay nipples etc but when i was talking to a fellow model engineer at the ally pally show they said that brass and boilers is dangrous, so should i use bronze if so what grade lg2, pb1, pb102, colphos or is brass gonna be ok in a model this small as i have loads of brass hex that will do the job, confused.com regards |

![]() 1860 forum posts 121 photos | Theres always someone who will tell you horror stories about using brass on copper, but for the amount of usage the typical 3 1/2 boiler gets it wont make a jot. If your using it for stay or boss remember it expands like billyo when heated and always ends up oversize! Bronze is better, but megger expensive! |
