i was left this 1 1/4 scale model by my late father.. he compleated it in the early 60's
it is finished but in need of minor restoration work, which i wanted to undertake but just havnt got the time.
i was wondering if anyone could put a value on this piece if i decide to sell it, and who may be intersted.
thanks Andy

Hi Andy
I expect it is 1 1/2inch scale.
Worth well more than that initial offer.
I was probably on the low side with my estimate.
regards David

Hi David thanks for that, how do i know if its a 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" scale?
Its 26" long and 12.5" wide, does that help?.
Thanks again. watch this space.

Thats actually a fraction bigger than the 1 1/2" which is 25" long but I expect its the same design which was and still is quite popular.

I doubt it has a current boiler certificate which will affect the price quite a lot

Thanks again jason, took a look, quite expencive, even an unfinnished one.
Do you know how i would go about getting a boiler cert, or bearing in mind, i am lead to beleive it hasnt been fired up since late 60's early 70's would it be worth my while getting this done? or best leave to the experts in renovation.
Thanks Andy

If you are a member of a ME club they wil be able to test it or you can employ an independant boiler inspector, though if you are not going to restore it yourself it may just be easier to sell as is at a reduced price.
