9 forum posts | I've just been to look at a second-hand Chester Craftsman lathe which on the face of it seems reasonable. However I'm a total beginner and when I looked at the so called manual it was next to useless in terms of describing operation and maintenance. Does anyone know if a "proper" manual exists for this machine as I'd like to see one before negotiating the purchase?
Thanks all.

Look on there site spot the lathe you have note the number Grizzley use numbers not names and download that is how I obtained a descent manual for my Chester626 mill
, though the manuals as they are American go OTT with elf and safety. Though I suspect that Chester, Warco et all; come out of the same factory in China.
Anyway good luck looks a tidy machine if it has the X,Y DRO and gap bed.
Check out how much usage it has had if poss and also is there any damage to the slide bed. indicating abuse.
