I have just bought a Major Miller from a friend. Its one of the Nu tool, Warco etc makes.

I have changed the table locks and all the other locks to ratchet handles. Next on the list is to fit a DRO on the x and y movement. I have looked at the ones which a similar to the vernier which have a readout on the slide but i would like something a little better and more robust.

Any information would be appreciated.

Cheers Brian

Brian,

Machine DRO sell a nice range of both glass and magnetic strip sets. A little pricey though. Expect maybe the wrong side of £400 to get a good set up, a little cheaper for the budget display units with fewer features.

I am not recommending anything, but I have used 3 Sino display units with seven glass scales for just over 3 years now, and I have never had a single glitch on any of it.

Hope this helps

John
