Hi,

Can anyone help please, I have recently bought a Centec 2A milling machine with a standard (Not the moving quill type) vertical head. The vertical head was in a pretty bad state and half the components are missing.

I am starting with the horizontal section I have removed all the paint and rubbish from the casting and have sourced the bearings (for both castings) my problem is when i mock built the spindle of the horizontal section I seem to have a lot of spindle left over and sticking out. this means there is something missing like a spacer or maybe there is a very long spigot on the pully (that I do not have)

Can anyone supply a drawing, photograph, or even an explanation of how it goes back together, any help would be very much appreceated, thanks

Ian

Hi Norman,

Thanks for taking the time to help. Unfortunately, I have spoken to Tony and his manual does'nt have any drawings of the internal workings of the vertical head. In fact I think I have a copy of the manual he is selling I downloaded from pilotltd.net website.
