I have been given a set of castings for a 5" loco but unfortunately my father has lost the drawings. There has been some work done on the wheels but not much else. Is there a where to trace what loco these are for so I can purchase a set of drawings.

The wheels have D113 on them but there is nothing on the cylinder castings or anything else.

I have 6 wheels all the same size, connecting roads, buffer castings and several other blanks.

If you can help please let me know or if there should be any markings that would help then let me know

D113 looks like a Reeves wheel code. Yes - it is a code for 5" gauge, tread dia 4 3/8" 12 spokes, coupled, Style BFLS which is round nose tapered spokes, tapered rim, crescent shaped balance weight.

Doesn't tell you which loco it's for, but iff the wheel matches that description a call to Reeves will get you the answer.

I have now spoken to Reeves and they have confirmed the wheel castings were from Simplex but they do not use these anymore for this loco. Does anyone have a scanned copy of the simplex drawings so I can confirm that the rest of the castings are from the same loco. I don't want to spent £50 on a set of drawing only to find that the castings are from different loco's.

Thanks for your help.

My email address is [email protected] if you can send me a drawing.
