85 forum posts 5 photos | Afternoon all, I have been having a rummage around (as I seem to own things I dont even know I have!) and I have found a reprinted bound volume of ME 1933 volume 68. reprinted by argus in 1977. I have had a look around the internet and it would seem that a dozen or so randomly selected volumes were reprinted in the 70's. What was the reasoning behind such a random selection of volumes to reprint? Does anyone have a full list of the ones that were done? On a seperate note, when did adverts begin appearing in ME? just out of interest
Regards, Dave |

I think you've been able to buy bound copies of complete volumes from quite early on ( I seem to recall adverts for them) As well as back issues, you could also buy the complete volume less adverts. The earliest bound volume I have is volume 48 and that looks as though it was printed as a complete volume rather than individual issues just bound together. The earliest issue in my collection is volume 13 issue 235 ( October 26th 1905) and that has plenty of adverts! Incidentally, the price was 2d or 3d to include free postage. I would imagine that the publication has always contained adverts? John |

So in answer to your advert question, I reckon, from the very start.

2 forum posts | Hello Everyone, I was so happy to come across this post. My father-in-law has collected around 17 of these books over the years. Unfortunately due to health issues he is no longer able to utilize them. He has asked me to sell them but I wasn't sure what they were worth or where would be a good place to sell them. I have seen a few of these listed on various sites with all different price tags associated with them. My hope was to sell the whole collection or a solid portion of it at one time. They are all in very good shape still especially for the age. Does anyone have any thoughts? |

2 forum posts | Thanks Neil! I will do that. Any thoughts on where to track down reasonable prices or should I stick with the Amazon thought? |
