Trying to sell a part built 3 1/2" kit.

![]() 4 forum posts | Hi folks, I'm looking for a little help. My boss has asked me to sell his part built Heilan Lassie loco kit for him. He's not touched it for many years and says he no longer has the incentive to carry on with the build. I have no idea as to what it may be worth. Has anyone here any idea, or indeed would any body be interested in buying it? I know I could put it up on ebay, but we would both prefer it to go to somebody that would appreciate it. I would like, however, to get a fair price for it as I owe him a lot for the confidence he has shown in me. Thanks in advance for any comments. Mark. |

1058 forum posts 16 photos | Hi, can you put up photos of the current build state? Is this in 3 1/2" scale and to what design LBSC ? Is there are full set of castings included? Much more info needed before anyonce could give any indication of value etc etc. Also have you considered contacting the likes of Mike at stationroadsteam.co.uk, he offers very fair prices for these sort of projects. regards CB |

![]() 4 forum posts | Hi CB I hope to get some pictures tomorrow. It is basically a rolling chassis, wheels have been fitted with tyre bands, the centre crank and con rod along with it's valve cam and rod also fitted as is the feed water pump. The three cylinders have been finished machined as far as I can tell. As far as we are aware the kit is complete, castings, boiler material etc. The only thing we know is missing are the drawings, which were lent out some years ago and never returned. 'Heilan Lassie' is a 3 1/2" gauge locomotive design by LBSC. I already gave my boss Station Roads details (and others) but when he contacted them they were very disinterested. Thanks for the reply Mark |

![]() 4 forum posts | Hello again, I've taken some pictures of this loco and put them in a folder on my web site. Just follow the link below. I have a few more pictures and/or if someone wants a particular view of something then send me your email address and I'll send them direct to you. There are more parts machined than I was aware of. Unfortunately time has not been too kind, there is one of the front bogie wheels that is missing a piece of it's flange. There is also signs of metal maggot on a lot of the parts. I don't think it's serious but I rebuild old machine tools so those who build these locos may have a different view. Probably best viewed in person before purchasing perhaps. Regards, Mark. |
