Oil haemorrhage

Hi folks,
I have an early model Ajax AJT4 which has so far served me well and cost very little.
It has recently developed a significant oil leak from the gearbox in the knee.
Before I tear it down to investigate, does anyone else have one of these machines, and do you have any inking as to which seal may have failed to cause such a leak.
It must be on one of the lower shafts, possibly the motor shaft as the gearbox is almost completely devoid of oil.
