If you cause the URL to change in any way, e.g. by inserting a new picture into that set or album it will disappear . Don't ask how I know ![]() Regards Terry |

It looks very much (but not quite!) like Greenly's "The Model Engineer" Working Model Traction Engine in 1 inch scale.
The wheels of that are 4 inch and 6 inch, the boiler diameter is 2 3/4 inches and the cylinder is 5/8 inch bore.
The other 1 inch scale engine that is very popular is, of course,"Minnie", but I don't have the drawings to hand to check.
Hope this helps

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Look back through an index of MEs to find what issues covered the build and then go an buy them, e-bay is a good source best to buy full volumes not individual mags.
You may also be able to get them from a local libruary or borrow from a ME club
Index here at least you know it was in the 20's

![]() 1946 forum posts 179 photos | Hi Jason, I don't know if you have looked recently, but there are very few full volumes of ME sold on eBay these days, usually very early years and they tend to go for ridiculous prices. I prefer the use of a library and scanner now. Mind you given this Government's attitude they may not be around for too long. Regards Terry |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Last couple of volumes I bought about 4 months ago were £6 a set which is not bad, certainly better than £1 or more per issue. But as you say the earlier ones are becoming harder to find so cost a bit more.
This is a seller I have used several times who does whole volumes

I think that you will find the construction articles in 'M.E.' Volume 68 (1933), starting in Issue 1652.

![]() 3988 forum posts 1799 photos | Hi Ben, I happen to have a spare vol 68, although it is minus the covers and avert pages. They have the proverbial rusty staples and stains but are totally readable on the text and illustrations. If you would like this volume, let me know. The introduction to these interesting machines "Modelling Traction Engines" by Henry Greenly, actually starts on pages 435-436 iss.1644 488-489 iss.1646 533-536 iss 1648 555-558 iss.1649 and 611-614 iss.1651 vol 67.

I am lucky that I have access to bound volumes going back to 1944 in my local library. I can borrow them or copy them when I like. That's enough projects to keep me going I think I don't think I necessarily need any earlier volumes.. Best regards Terry |
