I don't know how to make a link here, but if you search Ebay, for " Allchin Traction engines" you will find a listing for a 1/12" Allchin Boiler.
I know absolutely nothing about boilers, but if I continue to make the model I shall need one. A new one is £800 plus. What are the risks in buying second hand ? Can it, or could it be made into a safe, serviceable boiler for this model?
Regards,
Ray |

Poor quality work, not up to specification on materials and workmanship, un tested without pressure test certification, possibly not capable of being repaired, possibly worth only its scrap copper value. Unless you can physically see and handle the item, with an experienced boiler maker present, best left alone? |
