| 28 forum posts 5 photos | Hi Everyone, I want to build a 71/4" gauge model of the LBSC "Remembrance" Baltic Tank engine. I wondered if anyone knows of where I could obtain some good drawings. I believe that this engine has been modelled before but can only find reference to 5" gauge. Any help, guidance, advice would be greatly appreciated. | 34 forum posts 5 photos | Unless someone has re-drawn the plans for 7 1/4" then you will have to work from 5" drawings and multiply everything by 1.45 (7.25/5).
I have done this with Dougal from Reeves although I used a factor of 1.5 to give more "round" numbers and just adjusted the frame spacing to suit 7 1/4" rather than 7.5" which X1.5 gives. Then you will need to make your own patterns and have access to a foundry

The pattern making and casting elements fortunately are not obstacles - being in the foundry business and having access to pretty good commercial sand and lost-wax moulding technologies in both ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The scaling of drawings would not cause any hardship either but do any 5" scale drawings exist for this model? I am a novice model engineer so maybe they do and I have missed them. If anyone knows of a 5" or 31/4" model of this Class and/or drawings I would most appreciative for any leads. Thanks and best regards Keith | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I have never seen a 3.5" or a 5" advertised though

| 1585 forum posts 1 photos | Some years ago, the late Bert Perryman, member Worthing and Brighton & Hove clubs, built a 5"G model of "Remembrance" to works drawings and I remember seeing it running. It had the correct plates which read something like, "In memory of all the fallen LB&SCR employees in the Great War, 1914-1918." Dont know what happened to drawings but not in Worthing club`s Library as I`m their Librarian. I believe engine accepted by York Transport Museum, so you could try them to see if you can view it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 28 forum posts 5 photos | Thanks vey much for your responses. I have just checked with the ME magazine reference list and have found 6 references in our esteemed magazine. They are given below. I wondered if anyone could elaborate on any of these references. They include one on the 5" gauge model by A.C. Perryman, mentioned by John Coleman. Thanks and best regards Keith
