3 forum posts | Can anyone suggest where I can get replacement motor brushes for a EMCO Unimat 3 Millenium lathe? I have tried various sources including the supplier and have drawn a blank.
The Millenium lathe does not use the standard EMCO drive unit. The motor is contained in a box below the lathe bed, The brushes are 3.5 x 9.8mm cross section and are much smaller than the brushes in the motor on my EMCO milling machine, There are no markings on the motor to give a clue.
Any advice would be gratefully teceived. I am crawling up the wall due to my lathe being hors de combat. |

2011 forum posts | Only advice I can give is, if you can't get the real ones, take the old brushs to a elect. factor, or auto elect. place, and get the nearest bigger size for a motor then file to size.NB motor brush. |

3 forum posts | Gordon, Thanks for the reply. I will try this out in about a week's time and let you know the results. My fear is that in fileing the brushes down I may end up looking like someone who has just emerged from a shift at the coalface!
