Wessex residents and maybe those further afield may be interested in the fact that Myhobbystore Ltd seem to be employing minimal publicity to advertise their  presence  at the Southern Tool Show  www.toolfair.co.uk.com to be held at Southampton's Rose Bowl on the 19th & 20th.  The only mention I've seen is on the top right hand corner of page 613 of issue 4352 of ME.  The prime movers of this event seems to be www.elliotts4tools.co.uk

Hi There
This is more of a power tool exhibition.
Although we are in attendence, I expect the event organisers will advertise it.

I duly visited the Toolfair this morning and having perused the web site fairly thoroughly it was as I suspected, myhobbystore.com were concentrating on their woodworking titles.  My two Tee-shirts, ball point pens, DeWalt carpenters' pencil, Makita money-box etc. was some compensation for my wasted time and fuel.
But, hey, don't management at Orpington know about this forum and the fact that well over a hundred registrants had viewed my earlier post above; could they not have posted information about the woodwork emphasis to avoid our wasted expense.
Am I being too critical...............nah!

Hi There
Read the post above.
I said it was a power tool exhibition.
Myhobbystore were not promoting the exhibition in Model engineer.
I was asked by management to print a list of shows we were attending.
This I did.
regards David

David, David, David, it wasn't intended to be a criticism of you knowing that you live several hundred miles away from Orpington, let alone a different country.

HI There
I know you were not criticising but power tools should have made it reasonbly clear what it was all about.

After a quick look at the toolfair & elliots sites it was quite clear to me what type of show it would be, there are a number of these shows around the country where all the powertool makers have their demos and I would not have expected it to be engineering related.

Also the other events listed in that box on page 613 were not particularly engineering related so why expect one of them to be. It does say that Myhobbystore will be attending not ME or MEW.
