Selling up

Due to failing health I am having to dispose of my wokshop. It has taken me a while to realise that increasing infirmity is making it dangerous for me to be around machinery.

I have put adverts for lathe, mill and bandsaw in the classified section.

We are all getting there.

I hope you find a safe and satisfying substitute.

May be too late now but learning CAD definitely keeps you in the ME loop when the physical part becomes an issue

Also handy if illness puts you onto the subs bench for a period

I, too, am sorry to hear about your health problems, Iain. I am in a slightly different position, in that while not in the best of health, I have reluctantly decided to sell off the majority of my workshop contents to relieve my executors of the burden of getting rid of a multitude of stuff they know little about. I'm in the middle of amassing photos of what is going to be for sale and grouping tools into "lots". The main difficulty that I foresee is the not inconsiderable problem of transportation of sold machines, unless the purchaser is local.

Good luck with your disposal. i hope that the equipment all goes to deserving new homes.

I intend to buy a 3D printer just to "keep my hand in" because I know that my nephew will happily take that on when I've had my half-day out with the undertaker.

The tought of having to sell up horrifies me, but it will be better for me to do it vrather than leave for someone else..

As has been said, for anyone who does not know what the kitb is worth, or what itb is for, it will be horrendous.

Pne of ther advantages of being a club member bin that there will folk to help and advise.
