It says Fri. 10th to Sunday 11th on the home page; corrected to Saturday on the "Read More" page but at least the parallel events (model railways and model-engineering) are now on the official web-site. 10am to 5pm both days. One ticket covers both exhibitions. Further details & tickets via the site links. |

![]() 3676 forum posts 82 photos | It looks like it will be worth a visit, interesting that it claims to have been running since 1992 so is it a continuation of the Rex organised shows which were very good. I shall plan a visit to Yorkshire and take in the show, a 380 mile round trip is rather a long day trip so I will make a short break of it. Mike |

Mike Hmmmm, Established in 1992 doesn't mean running since 1992 Harrogate Model Engineering Exhibition"Established in 1992 it’s the UKs favourite and probably the Best Model Engineering Exhibition in the calendar. Presented by The Events Office who organised the Harrogate Model Engineering Exhibition from 1993 to 2009 and advised till 2015. Club and Society Stands with a diverse range of models covering all aspects of model Engineering. Trade area selling everything from a small bolt to a complete steam locomotive." Bill |

3293 forum posts 112 photos | The die is cast.... I have just bought, "downloaded" and printed the ticket. Next thing is to work out how best to get there: I've a choice of driving or using the train from my accommodation; but with things as they are at the moment.... It's a bit far to drive from home on the day - I'd need leave home at 3am to arrive before 11! |

3293 forum posts 112 photos | I've just followed that by examining the 'Organiser' section of the YEC's web-site. It offers merely booking form for the event organisers, for future events. The Visitors' Information for both public and trade shows (the ice-cream) is quite sparse. I think the entry categories and competitions can only be handled by the event organiser; but I would expect delivery and collection information, including security, to be a joint effort by organiser and venue. Eight weeks away.... It all is worryingly close to the time for exhibitors, including the traders and club stands, to plan anything. Without knowing what is really going on, or not, in the background we can't do anything more than wait and hope; though I would suggest it's not the YEC we need scrutinise, but whoever is trying to run these two parallel exhibitions. The YEC does seem to be on the ball for advertising events, but it can't publish confirmations and details it has not received from organisers. Have the shows even been advertised yet, in the two hobbies' magazines? |

3293 forum posts 112 photos | Bernard - Worried, I have just examined the YEC's own website. The dual show is still advertised, but when you say "organisers" do you mean that of the YEC or of the exhibitions? Nicholas - It is indeed but I have yet to see glowing ads from whoever is actually organising the exhibition. The YEC itself does not publicly quote the show organisers, but I am pretty sure they are different entities.
I have bought my ticket but I think that is from the YEC itself, or at least a contractor for all events there.

1221 forum posts 161 photos | yes YEC directed us to the "organisers" but it all seems a bit disorganised considering if you want to exhibit, you need to organise accommodation and there is associated cost as well because the closer you get to the date the more expensive it tends to be, |

3293 forum posts 112 photos | Indeed! I wonder if it was an inevitable result of the Northern show booking the YEC very late so having to take what was available. However, the Harrogate event appears from the name to be for the small scenic-layout railways (00-gauge and similar), so it might not be quite the clash it seems. Except for visitors and traders interested in both sets of scales, of course. It's all rather worrying, but we should support it if we want the event to continue, while hoping its organiser is more organised in future. If it does all end in tears this year it might not re-appear, and such failure might also harm the venue's reputation. |
