Hartmann Whistle

How to obtain one?

Hello All

Wondered if any of you are familiar with the Hartmann whistle and perhaps know someone who can make one

I have studied how they work, and have an explanatory technical drawing; unfortunately it's a png file so I can't post it here.

It can apparently be made on a lathe in half an hour, but I'm not an engineer, unless it's something that can be mig welded.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's an interesting project but I think halfnan hour on a lathe is a bit optimistic .

Richard

I am sending a ‘Personal Message’ to you … please respond by eMail with the png file

… it will only take me seconds to convert it.

I would open the file in Paint.net and then do a 'save as' selecting the .pdf option in the pull-down menu.

Best regards,

Thanks to all so far. As goes the half hour claim, I usually at least multiply such things by 2 or 3, on the vast majority of jobs. Or maybe that's just personal inefficiency.

I don't have access to anything other than a basic smartphone, so can't see how to change png to jpg.

The Schematic is the first one that comes up on a google search, black and white with everything labelled, which is helpful.

Please read my previous post, Richard … and eMail the file to me

Oops … I skipped over that one, because the title includes the word Subsonic

I’ve downloaded it and will have a look later.
