Thinking of getting a CNC mill and firstly wondered if anyone had experience of using a Denford VMC1300 Pro mill and its accompanying software? I did CNC programming on Interact Mk1 mills with Heidenhein controls back in the mid 1980’s but no use of CNC since so although I am not a complete CNC dummy I have a steep learning curve in front of me, so any advice would be a massive help. My second question is what kind of air compressor is required in relation to hooking it up to a CNC to operate an automatic tool changer.
Thanks in anticipation.

Shaun, message sent - invite to view working VMC1300 and Novamill - no obligation, See and discuss - great fun and effective but not 3phase production machines.

I have a Denford Novamill which is a very nice little machine. Denford's are mechanically great but the electronics and controls by modern standards are ancient and unsupported. The ideal is a marriage of a Denford machine with modern controls and computer, possibly (but not necessarily) also installing new axis drive motors. Unfortunately there are few new CNC mills at "amateur" prices around.
