Has anyone had a problem with the M3.5 torx screws coming loose. There are only about 4 threads engagement in the holder and despite tightening the screws with the supplied torx key I've had instances when the inserts become loose. Can anyone suggest a reason for this. I've considered getting some longer screws so there is more thread engagement. Thanks for any thoughts. Keith.

I've not had a problem with mine, I don't use them that often but when I do it's often on chilled castings or hardened steel which should be a good test for the screw's holding ability.

No problems with mine either. I has to work hard for its living too as, like Jasons, it only comes out for difficult stuff.

4 threads engagement soound somewhat less than mine. Without checking 6 and some sounds more like it to me.

Just checked mine and only about 2.5mm of screw sticking out beyond the insert so sounds about right for 4 turns @ 0.6mm pitch

Counts at four and a bit turns from tight to undone with the Chronos supplied inserts for me.

I'd have put money on it being more. Just goes to show how careful you have to be when evaluating impressions rather than measurements.

Heck the amount of screw stick out when undone still looks as if it ought to be more. Even after counting. I guess its the countersink head taper.

I’ve not had problems with my set either. If you want to get some longer screws, Taiwanese made Torx Insert screws on the auction site have all been good quality so far and much cheaper.

Are there any other places you can get the inserts for these sets? I generally only use the triangular insert tool.
