Hi all, I use this forum a lot for information, thought it was time I said hi to you all and many thanks for all of the informative threads which have helped me find answers to loads of stuff, not just machining.

I do have a milling machine and a lathe, unfortunately the lathe has not been wired up for a few years due to house moves and it being 3 phase. Looking forward to getting it powered again and making some swarf only this time I want to learn how to use it properly with some precision.

Cheers

Matt

Hello, I wonder where the South West starts in your book? laugh Do drop in on Exeter DMES if you are in the important part of the South West. We have a meeting this Friday at 7pm in St Katherine's Priory.

Hi Bazyle, I was brought up in Newark Nottinghamshire so pretty much anything south and west of that is south west in my bookwink. I currently live in forest of dean Gloucestershire so the closest club to me is in Cheltenham last time I checked so a bit far at an hours drive.

In my book Forest of Dean is West Midlands!

By all means find a local Club and join.

You will find like mined individuals, some of whom will happily advise, and / or help get you set up and going.

Although, perhaps, a bit far, my contacts with Hereford Society have always been good and welcoming..

They are next door to the WaterWorks Museum on Broomy Hill.

(Was born and grew up in Hereford )

Mat

The Bristol society meets in Stapleton close to the M4/M32 junction so it may be easier to get to than Cheltenham.

Whatever, welcome and make use of the forum.
