![]() 175 forum posts 36 photos | Funny, as I said I don't know how that happened I only posted one. |

![]() 175 forum posts 36 photos | The gist of the post is I made a 3 way tool post from a design I found in a ME magazine No. 299 December 2020. It is a very good design as it doesn't have sharp bits pointing at the operator. Also I want to know if anyone else a has made one and what they think of it. I would have liked to add a photo but I can't remember how. |

![]() 7881 forum posts 397 photos | That would be the Lamas (Lammas?) toolpost I presume. I have always liked the look of them but never got around to making one. Always wondered about not being able to fit a facing tool or boring bar in them "wrong way round". How do you deal with that? |
Mark Smith 3 | 27/05/2022 09:45:39 |
![]() 175 forum posts 36 photos | Thank you Michael I'll do that. As to the boring bar problem Lammas says to make more than one. The other is upside down with respect to the first. |

![]() 175 forum posts 36 photos | I agree, I haven't stabbed myself on my four way yet either, but as you said I too like the clearance it provides. That's what attracted me to it. Mark |

That's an advantage I had not thought of. No more revolving centre body blocking the toolpost just as you get to the last cut! Very nice. |

Dare I ask … Has Dave deleted the wrong thread ? MichaelG. Due to my accident prone history I'm the Usual Suspect! Not guilty this time though! I marked two of three duplicate threads ready to delete them but was distracted, When i got back they were gone. Deleting duplicate threads is a bit risky. There's always a chance another moderator will zap different altenatives, thus losing everything! Who said one bad general is better than two good ones? Dave |
