Myford taper turning attachment part

The arm from my Myford lathe taper turning attachment has been mislaid in moving workshop and may have accidentally been disposed of so I am trying to source a replacement.

The new “Myford” company will not sell an arm separately, insisting I have to purchase the complete £500 kit again just to obtain the arm.

Anyone any ideas on replacing it?

Thanks!

Would the corresponding part from the Hemingway Kits version solve your problem? (I don't know if they would supply separately, of course).

Do you mean the arm that goes from the cross slide to the taper unit? Should be easy enough to make one. It is only a piece of flat plate with slot in it. A piece of 6061 aluminium would do the job and easy to cut or machine to shape.

See this previous thread for some idea on how to make a flat plate one. **LINK**

Twf, I have a taper turning attachment with the fitting instructions which show as far as i can recall a drawing which may be dimensioned? For clarity what do you mean by arm??

I'm reminded by looking at that thread that I made a sketch of the arm:

Thank you for the above information, it is indeed that arm that I am referring to.

I was hoping to buy a ready made example as I have very little spare time however looks like I will be making my own arm.

Seems like I belong to the Roderick Jenkins et al 'Me Too' movement - I am also missing the connecting arm for the TTA on my Myford Super 7 lathe. Still wearing engineering 'L' plates, so making one is beyond me. Any surplus/spare ones out there for sale?
