![]() 1078 forum posts | Now those are rather nifty. I think I'd probably make them as and when needed as I have too many eclectic taps to know exactly what to get or make in advance! (for some reason I've accumulated at least 10 6BA for example) |

![]() 910 forum posts 303 photos | They come as Metric sizes, that tap I used it on was 1/2" whitworth with an M12 tool, so they have a bit of scope for sizes they can be used with, but yes very easy to make, even better if you can properly harden/temper them, for bigger sizes you could probably get away without heat treatment. |

1394 forum posts 103 photos | that tap I used it on was 1/2" whitworth Must have taken a bit of effort to break that ! The stores at Broadbents used to keep Walton tap extractors, which have extendable fingers to engage with the flutes rather than the machined ends of your set. The fingers can be obtained separately for replacement if they get damaged. I think I still have some somewhere in the garage, but only in smaller sizes. It took me a while to learn to stop breaking 2BA taps when fitting switchplates ... Nigel B. |
