Hi All,

Here is an unusual clamping type tool by FOOTPRINT, uses leather washers at the pivot so cannot clamp very tightly, jaw seem able two grip in two directions. Cannot find it in their catalogues?

Or is it a part of something else perhaps?

Any thoughts please?

Hi Martin, the shape of the jaws suggests either squares or rounds, but squares would be limited to many applications, although it probably could be used for some jobs, but pipe / tube was my first instinctive thought and that's what I looked for in my B&H catalogue.

Regards Nick.

Yes the jaw shape is similar to the Monument pipe clamp which made it a bit easier to search for. My father was a good friend of the Colliers who owned Monument tools and did electrical and building work for them, I've been in the factory a few times when they were based in Balham

Very useful if you needed to wipe a joint between lead pipes in the days before copper fittings came into use.
