8 forum posts 5 photos | I have a Centec model 2A that I am having an oil leak on. The oil is leaking from the shaft that the horizontal arbour would fit into, and only occurs when the machine is running. Does anyone know if there is an oil seal located behind the plate in the attached picture, and if so what its replacement part would be. I have looked at the manual but this is not so clear, though it does show what it describes as a flinger. thanks James |

2536 forum posts 24 photos | It's a 3/16" or so washer with grooves in the edges called a flinger, the only seal is a 'Gits' on the rear of the main spindle. Mine does not leak. Have you stripped it down? |

8 forum posts 5 photos | Okay thanks No I have not stripped it as I wanted to know if I would need to get some parts before doing so. With your information I will do so and see what I find. |

2536 forum posts 24 photos | I only ask as someone has, the front plate is 90deg wrong way round. The middle shaft locating bung looks too far in and shouldn't need retaining with grub screws as that means you can't adjust it. Least ways the later version didn't have the screws. If some fool has greased the front bearings that may be why the flinger is not working. Or it may be the oil is too thin. How noisy is it? Take the righthand gear change plate off and see if the gears are aligned properly. Edited By Dave Halford on 31/10/2021 17:11:19 |

8 forum posts 5 photos | Dave, Thanks for all the pointers, you are right about the front plate I had never even noticed that. it runs quite smoothly and doesn't sound too noisy at all. I will do a bit of investigating. not done it yet, I haven't, there does not seem to be any noticable play in the shaft, do you know what the end float should be ?
