2308 forum posts 33 photos | Yesterday I was given an almost new SIP 10"bandsaw because the upper wheel had shed it's rubber lining ! A quick look at the assorted inner tubes I have and a pair of scissors cut a 1/2" wide band out of a 10" tube that is a perfect fit. To stop it rippling on the wheel I will bond it with bostic or similar. The reason it was given to me was that the replacement wheels are not available. One could have used 2mm x 12mm rubber strip and scarfed the joint a 1m length would be enough. I might even try something like this on the Dewalt that mice eat the rubber covered wheels on. Ah well.
